WebXR Design Review Room

The WebXR Design Review Room transforms how distributed teams conduct 3D design reviews. Built on the YugmaXR platform, this purpose-built environment enables stakeholders to collaboratively examine designs in immersive detail, regardless of their physical location or available hardware—from VR headsets to standard web browsers.

The review room loads 3D models with full material fidelity, supporting files up to hundreds of megabytes through progressive streaming. Large assemblies are rendered using GPU instancing and frustum culling, maintaining smooth frame rates even with millions of polygons. Users navigate using teleportation in VR or intuitive orbit controls on desktop.

Annotation tools enable reviewers to mark specific locations with sticky notes, draw highlighting on surfaces, and record voice notes attached to spatial locations. These annotations persist across sessions, creating an audit trail of design discussions and decisions.

Measurement tools provide precise distance, angle, and radius calculations—critical for engineering reviews. Section plane controls reveal internal structures, while exploded view modes allow examination of assembly relationships.

The laser pointer feature projects from each participant's avatar, visible to all attendees and streaming participants. Combined with spatial voice chat providing proximity-based audio, the experience feels like gathering around a physical prototype.

Session recording captures the entire review including audio, avatar movements, and annotations, generating shareable video for stakeholders unable to attend live. Integration with project management systems enables automatic meeting minutes generation from annotations and decisions recorded during sessions.
